Rob Chubb is a former professional basketball player who was a Division I starter for Auburn University. He juggled an intense basketball schedule with a demanding school schedule throughout high school and college, something that many kids and young adults are forced to do to pursue their passions. Although this can be very tricky, there are certain strategies you can use to make balancing school and sports easier.
- Plan your schedule as far ahead of time as you can. Although this requires a little more forethought than working day-by-day, it will help you make sure that all your schoolwork gets done ahead of time, and you’ll never miss a sports game or practice. Whether you use a digital calendar (on your phone or computer), or a physical planner, having a visual reminder of what needs to get done can be very motivating. - Avoid procrastination as much as possible. This can be a difficult habit to break if you have been a procrastinator in the past, but once you start working ahead of time instead of at the last minute, you will actually find yourself much less stressed. When you receive a new assignment, start it during your next free period or break instead of waiting until later. - Schedule time to socialize and relax. Even busy athletes need time to take a break. If you put these things into your schedule ahead of time, you will be less likely to get distracted by them when you really need to work. Through some hard work and efficient scheduling, Rob Chubb was able to succeed at both basketball and school. Comments are closed.
